Who We Are
Friends of the Library is an actively contributing group of community members who are instrumental in maintaining basic operations of the library. The FOL was formed in February of 2000 and has been the major fundraising source since the very beginning of the library. The Members meet bi-monthly and volunteer their time to perform crucial library tasks, such as shelving books and preparing new materials for the collection. It is the FOL's mission to promote a greater appreciation of literature and lifelong learning by providing special programs throughout the year, for both adults and children. It is our intention to encourage community awareness of the importance of fostering reading at all ages, by promoting the materials and programs of the library. FOL support of special author visits, Read Across America Day, weekly story times, and an interactive summer reading program are just a few of the ways the FOL helps the library to enhance our community.
