Volunteer: Library Helper

No library experience necessary — everything can be easily taught!

Library Helpers support the day-to-day flow of the library and help keep our space welcoming, organized, and ready for our community. Tasks may include:

Shelving and organizing returned books

Straightening shelves and maintaining tidy stacks

Covering and processing new books

Light housekeeping (dusting, light vacuuming, general tidying)

Pulling books for weekly or monthly themes and displays

Occasionally helping prep simple crafts or materials for Storytime and youth programs

Shifts are flexible and typically 1–2 hours, with the option to stay longer if desired. Tasks vary by day, so volunteers can enjoy a mix of quiet, independent work and creative projects.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who:

Enjoys books and organized spaces

Likes hands-on, behind-the-scenes work

Wants to support children’s programming and community literacy

Is looking for a low-pressure, flexible volunteer role
